How should you define S-tier in POE?
S-tier means the best expected value across a hundred boss fights on maps, acts, and endgame zones — not the build that looks strongest in a controlled hideout test. Mid-range spell builds win many of the fights that actually decide mapping runs: medium-range through doorways, open zones, and dense packs.
Melee still owns tight interiors. Bow builds still punish long-range rare mobs on Atlas and endgame zones. Everything between those extremes is usually spell-casting country, which is why a well-built meta bow or spell build stays relevant league after league when gems and mods are available.
